Dr. Bal is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri, Columbia, specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He is active in material science research, teaching and training future orthopaedic surgeons, and medicolegal writing. He is Senior Partner in BalBrenner, a health care law firm in North Carolina. He serves as Chairman of the Board, and CEO/President of Amedica Corporation, a company in Salt Lake City, Utah, that has developed and marketed composite silicon nitride orthopaedic implants worldwide.
