Austin Maddux holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990 and a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998. Maddux has been working in the legal field as an attorney since 1990. Maddux started his legal career at the law firm of Pollack, LLP in 1990. He served as an attorneys’ assistant at the firm from 1990-1994, before joining the firm full-time. There he was a litigation attorney and appellate lawyer, working on a wide variety of cases. Maddux then moved to the Criminal Division at the law firm of Polk, Schlosser, & Newman in 1998, where he worked for four years. He then represented the firm in a number of jury trials, including the conviction of The Imfula Murders defendant, Kenneth C. Jones. The Legal Times named him one of the “10 gutsiest defenders in a trial” in 1998.After leaving the firm in 2002, Maddux worked at Overstreet Securities before joining the investment banking team of RBC Capital Markets in 2007. There, he worked on a variety of financial advisory and capital raising transactions. Maddux then moved to American Realty Advisors in Greater Los Angeles Area in April 2011 and began working as a Vice President, Acquisitions at Clarion Partners LLC from April 2011 to September 2015. There, Maddux completed several Western U.S. acquisitions in all property types. In September 2015, Maddux was promoted to Western U.S. acquisitions managing director.Maddux is a co-founder and CEO of the startup called Radical Ventures, which was founded in 2013. Maddux is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Jesse Jackson Foundation.
