1) Background:From a young age, Ashraf Zeitoon was always interested in media and technology. When he first got his hands on a computer, he quickly became obsessed with playing video games and exploring the internet. He soon realized that he would love to work in the field of public policy. Inspired by hisexperiences in the public sector, Ashraf decided to pursue a career in policy. After completing his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Arizona in 2006, he worked in the public sector in the US Department of State before moving to Middle East in 2009.2) Career Highlights:Ashraf Zeitoon has been working in the private and public sectors in a variety of capacities, most notably as Director of Policy for Middle East, Turkey & Africa at Netflix and head of Policy - Middle East & North Africa at Facebook. At Netflix, he was responsible for developing and implementing the company’s Middle East policy and working with a team of lobbyists and staff to influence policy change. He also developed and executed strategies to expands the company’s social media presence in the region.At Facebook, he was responsible for developing and implementing the company’s North Africa policy. He also led the Facebook Marketing team and developed a number of important products and services, including the Facebook Places app, which allowed users to localize their websites. 🎓 Education

Ashraf Zeitoon has completed his compulsory academic education at Jami'at Al-Yarmouk, where he graduated with a BEng degree in mechanical engineering. He then proceeded to study at Amman Baccalaureate School, where he obtained a MEng degree in engineering.Ashraf Zeitoon has a three-year career development programme in electrical engineering and construction project management at Dubai-based engineering services company, EM Group. He has also worked as a technical consultant and engineer on a wide range of engineering projects across the region.Earlier this year, Zeitoon was appointed as the company's regional director for the Middle East and Africa. Zeitoon's current role will see him manage day-to-day operations and work with counterparts in various countries across the region.
