In April 2008, Ashish Chandra was appointed CEO and MD of Bharti Airtel at the age of 27. He was already responsible for product management in the brand's broadband division. Prior to this, he was with Airtel as the Head of Sales and Marketing from 2006-2008, andcédidate head of product management from June 1997 to July 2000. Ashish Chandra was responsible for strategy, sales, marketing, and business development for the company's all inclusive broadband and phone services. In an interview with ET Now, Ashish Chandra mentioned that the company has been focusing onfour business areas that are digitally connected, large and small customer base, always on, cloud-based solutions and digital customer behavior.
Ashish Chandra has a degree in Business Strategy and Marketing Management from the IMD Business School and a degree in Leadership Development Program Organizational Leadership from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Ashish Chandra also had a leadership development program at the Indian School of Business where he learned Change Management. He completed his masters in Business Administration - Marketing from the Podar Institute of Management in January 2009. Ashish Chandra started his career with the Indian School of Business as a marketing Officer in 1995. From January 2009 to January 2010, he was a marketing Manager at the Podar Institute of Management. After a three-year break, he rejoined the Indian School of Business in January 2015 as the Director of Marketing. He left the Indian School of Business after three years in February 2017 to start Ashish's own business.
