💼 Past Experience

Artist Jenny Pearl has had a passion for art since she was little. When she was only six, her parents bought her her first age-appropriate picture book, and she instantly got interested in the art of painting. From that point on, she knew she wanted to be an artist.After high school, Pearl worked as a commercial artist and started painting murals in my home. I then started managing a small business, which didn't allow me to actually be in the museum business. I self-taught myself basic oil painting and photography, but eventually I halted my education because I didn't feel confident that my skills would ever be taken seriously. I had no idea how to market my work.In the early 1990s, I started a fine art photography studio, Full Wave Sound Studios. Out of necessity, due to the recession, I completely scrapped my art education and started making art from scratch. I also started doing motion graphics, photo editing and graphic design. I had no idea how I was going to make a living as a creative artist, and I initially did it all for fun. However, over time I realized that I loved the idea of making my work visible and feeding my passion for art.For a period of five years, Artist Jenny Pearl was a Fine Artist at Muralist. In January 1994, I took over the business and we changed our name to Artist JenPearl. At the time, I thought it was a great name because it reflected my passion for art as well as my skills as a professional artist.Throughout the 1990s, I was a freelance project manager, working on a wide variety of advertising photos and illustrations. I also became involved in local youth ministries, working with kids in the Pasco town of Arlington. I taught children about the importance of art and storybook painting.In January 2009, I took a leave of absence from my day job so that I could join Full Wave Sound Studios as the executive administrative assistant. I loved the idea of working with other creatives, and I felt connected to the company due to our shared history and passion for art.Full Wave Sound Studios was a great place to work, and I learned a great deal about creative marketing, customer service, event planning, and more.In January 2015, I joined The Shepherd Center as an art teacher. It was an amazing experience to be a part of an innovative, visionary school that uses creativity and art to help kids learn and grow. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this institution.After five years of teaching and managing a small business, I decided to pursue my dream of starting my own art museum. after many years of research, I finally decided to launch Artist JenPearl's Museum in February 2017. I am extremely excited to be able to share my work with the world and provide insight and support to my students.

Artist Jenny Pearl has a B.A. in Counselling Psychology from Trinity College of Florida. She has also studied at St. Petersburg College from January 1991 to January 1993, Tarpon Springs High School from January 1986 to January 1989, and Trinitiy College of Florida from January 1986 to January 1989.
