He has also completed a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at Birzeit University in 1993.With his education and experience in water engineering, Arqam has the ability to look at civil engineering projects from a wide perspective and develop best practices for projects across different industries.He has also been involved with numerous domestic and foreign civil engineering projects and award-winning projects. Most notably, Arqam was a team leader on two of the world's tallest freestanding concrete bridges, the Schiffsberg and the Duna-Susa bridges.Arqam is also a member of the Israeli National Academy of Engineering and a member of the German Association of Civil Engineers.He is not only a highly skilled civil engineer, but he is also highly committed to his career, having been a long-standing member of the Editorial Board of the Israeli Journal of Civil Engineering, as well as serving as a member of the Scientific Committee of the International bridge Congress.Arqam is also a member of the Israeli Academy of Sciences and Engineers and a member of the World Academy of Telecommunications and Information Technology.

Born and raised in Gaza, Arqam Hijawi has spent most of his life in the area. He was born in the coastal town of Ashdod and raised in industrial areas of the Gaza Strip. When he was just 15, he started working in his family's Textile factory. After completing his high school education, he started working as a sales representative at an industrial company in the Gaza Strip. He then went on to work in various sales positions at McWane Plant & Industrial, at Atari Contracting, and Integrated Pipe Company. In 2018, Arqam Hijawi joined the team at McWane Gulf, where he is currently a Project Manager. He has Furthermore, he has also worked as a Regional Sales Manager for MENA in McWane Gulf from June 2016 to December 2018.
