Thesis Worker @ The objective of this master thesis is to develop wearable-based strategies to mine the standard posture. For a given sport, standard posture is defined as the posture requiring the minimal amount of effort and overload for maximum body efficiency.
Standard posture mining is fundamental for monitoring personal training performance, recognizing and predicting point of fatigue and for designing feedback systems for postural control. From November 2015 to Present (1 month) Intern @ Sinapi Biomedical is a South African company, focusing on providing medical devices which can make a difference and have advantage above competitive products. The R&D team of Sinapi pushes really hard to make great products at low costs.
At Sinapi Biomedical I did research on one of their products, the Sinapi Chest Drain. Main target was to see how the product could be improved on functional level and by reducing manufacturing costs.
On the side I helped with building a prototype for one of their new products. The problems to solve where mainly on material and manufacturing, directly affecting the functionality, look and feel of the product. One of the challenges was to find the right procedure to weld different plastic parts together.
Graded: 9.0 From April 2015 to July 2015 (4 months) Intern @ Organ Assist is one of the companies which inspired me to keep doing what I'm doing. They showed me clearly that it is possible to make the world a better place by their innovation and product development. With their organ perfusion devices they contribute to make more donor organs available for transplantation.
As an intern I worked on the development of a new version of their Extra-Corporal Organ Procurement System. I did a redesign to make the product smaller, easier to transport and easier to manufacture. 3D modelling of the product was done in SolidWorks.
