Principal Engineer - Powertrain @ Overall responsibility for Millbrook's Light Duty Vehicle Emissions Laboratory and all track based and offsite mobile Emissions and Fuel Economy Testing From January 2014 to Present (2 years) Senior Engineer - Powertrain @ VCA In-service emissions test programme 2005-06 / 06-07 / 07-08 / 08-09 / 09-10 / 10-11 - The objective of this programme was to investigate the exhaust emissions of a range of in-service vehicles against their legislative certification. Responsibilities included managing the programme, liaising with the relevant vehicle manufacturers and members of the public and supporting the testing when vehicles were on-site as well as analysing the data and producing the test report
Euro IV Engine powered London Bus - confidential customers. Evaluation of emissions, fuel consumption, NOx speciation and particle sizing on a Euro IV engine powered London Bus. The programme required analyses of the results for the Euro IV engine in five different running conditions requested by the customer, which included changes in engine calibration and exhaust lagging.
Manufacture Type Approval - confidential customer. This programme involved the approval of a vehicle to be sold in China. Witnessed Euro I, II, III and IV tests were required. The main responsibilities were to manage the programme, liaise with the customer and the VCA as well as providing technical support during the testing.
Baggage Tug Evaluation Programme – confidential customer. This programme was designed with the aim of evaluating a range of electric baggage handling vehicles. A bespoke test cycle was developed to simulate the tugs worst case duty cycle. The tug was also tested at both ambient and below freezing temperatures to evaluate the degradation of performance due to temperature. Responsibilities included managing the entire programme, developing the cycle, analysing the results and liaising with the customers to discuss the test results and suggesting improvements.
