Anthony (Andy) Mazzarella possesses over 30 years of experience in technology, general management and finance, and is a former Kleiner Perkins portfolio company CEO. Andy currently serves as CEO of Yeti, as well as principal at Edgewater Ventures. Prior to Yeti, Andy was CEO of Scalable Network Technologies. In addition to his investing, advisory and board responsibilities, he is also an IP expert for technology investors, and was recently CEO of PatentVest, Inc.
Andy was the founding CEO of AOptix Technologies, Inc. in 2001. AOptix is the world leader in ultra-high-bandwidth laser communications. AOptix is privately-held and its largest shareholders are Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Clearstone Ventures. Andy was Aoptix’s CEO for five years, Chairman for two additional years, and continues to serve on its board of directors.
Before co-founding AOptix, Andy was founding investor, Exec VP and CFO of iMALL, Inc, a publicly-held e-commerce enabler. Together with CEO Richard Rosenblatt, Andy executed the sale of iMALL to [email protected] in 1999 for $565 million. Andy was subsequently a founding investor of GreatDomains.com and was instrumental in its sale to Verisign for over $100 million. Andy went on to join Reunion.com as founding investor and member of its board of directors. He was also a founding investor and/or director of numerous other technology companies, including Mustang Software (sold to Quintus for $225 million), SuperNation (sold to InterMix Media), Advanced Turbine Designs, and eForce Media.
Early in his career, Andy was managing director of Geller & Friend Capital Partners, vice president of investment for The Davis Companies, director of planning for Twentieth Century Fox, management consultant with Deloitte & Touche, and an engineer at The Boeing Company.
Andy holds a Top Secret security clearance, a BA in Physics from Pomona College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School
