WHY ANTARCTICA In 2006 I took two trips to Antarctica to run multiple marathons and a 100km ultra marathon. To prepare, I trained in a commercial cold storage facility in San Diego for two years. You ask, "WHY"? The answer: To follow in the footsteps of my hero, Ernest Shackleton and the polar pioneers. The connection between their expeditions and the real world of business is amazingly close. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? I use photos and videos from Antarctic expedition history stories to illustrate the points that showcase what solid leadership and it's impact looks like. People think in pictures, not words.
