I am a practitioner (and connoisseur) of algorithms and mathematics. In particular I have worked on machine learning, probability, statistics and optimization. A rigorous PhD from Princeton University in Information theory (An area of probability theory and statistics that revolutionized digital communications and data compression) followed with research in machine learning, coupled with 6+ years of industry experience puts me in a strong position to rapidly sift through, recognize, experiment with and develop ideas which yield the most bang for the buck for data related problems.
We are part of a very unique generation. One, which has seen computers utterly transform every aspect of life, so much so that it is now hard to imagine what would life be without them.
These are still very early days and so much is yet to come, especially in machine learning and artificial intelligence. This is what makes me passionate about my work and keep up with new developments in the field.
Applied Researcher @ I am the Machine Learning/Information Retrieval architect for Microsoft's Applinking initiative. I designed the software stack and pipeline that runs in production everyday and allows (even non ML expert) devs to effortlessly use IR features and ML based models. As a researcher I also constantly experiment with various IR/ML techniques that push P/R ever closer to (1,1), and make it easier for non-experts to apply ML techniques.
