My general area of work is applying sophisticated statistical algorithms to business problems at scale. Currently, I work on content relevance at LinkedIn. I have a background in what is today known as data science, particularly machine learning, information retrieval and natural language/speech processing. I have experience in applying these scientific disciplines to a variety of business domains: online shopping (at A9/Amazon), keyword advertising (at Yahoo!) and spoken language assessment (at Ordinate). I design and build generic, programmer-friendly distributed data processing platforms that act as force multipliers when combined with scientific computing.
