Twenty years of experience in epidemiological and clinical research in industry and academia spanning neurological, metabolic and endocrine disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, dyslipidemias, diabetes mellitus, obesity, and acromegaly. Innovative thinker, accomplished clinical scientist, committed to deliver value to clinical science and clinical care. Conceived, designed, executed, and monitored experimental and confirmatory clinical trials, phase 1-4. as well as methodology studies. Created and managed Pfizer relationshjps with fifteen top tier Academic Medical Centers using a unique mixed headquarter/field based model. Author of more than 70 peer reviewed scientific papers and 12 chapters for medical books. Invited speaker at academic institutions and national and international scientific meetings, including the 2004 Nobel Conference “Brain control of feeding behavior”, the American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions (2005), the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Symposium “Appetite and Feeding” (2006), the Harvard Medical School Endocrine Grand Rounds (2006), Yale Medical School Metabolism Grand Rounds (2009), the Columbia College of Physican and Surgeons Obesity and Metabolic diseases Grand Rounds (2010), and the McGill University-Rockefeller Foundation (2011). Reviewer for several journals, NIH and Foundation grant applications, including the Ad Hoc Special Emphasis Panel on “Neuroimaging in Obesity Research” for the NIDDK-NIH (2009), the Scientific Review Committee on Postdoctoral Fellowships for the Davis Foundation (2009-2012), and start-up venture capital investments (Science House, 2009-2012). Recognized by awards and honors, including the “Anafred Halpern New Investigator Award” by the American College of Nutrition (2000), and 3 Fellowship Awards for Research Excellence by the NIH (2002, 2003, 2004).
