He also has experience in counterintelligence and intelligence gathering, having worked for the Central Intelligence Agency and the United States Federal government.In his7 years at Kleiner Perkins, Andy Chen was responsible for engineering recruitment and contingency planning, contracting out to other companies for tasks such as contracting out legal services, and managing an engineering recruiting practice. He also worked on the development of a microwave-frequency invisibility cloak technology, and was responsible for developing products for some of the largest companies in the world, such as Amazon, Electronic Arts, Genentech, Google, Nest, Spotify, Slack, beyond meat, Chegg, Facebook, Peloton,Snap, Ring, Twitter, Square, Airbnb, Pinterest, and Doordash.At Figma, Andy was responsible for investor relations, product development, and relationship management. He also started the KPCB Fellows Program, which provides fellowships for the brightest design, engineering, and product-minded students across the country. He is also the founder and managing director of another business, Coatue Management.Andy Chen is a Mannheim native and has lived in San Francisco Bay Area since 2007.
