Achievements include partnering with CEO to build a culture of discipline and accountability; led implementation of a store training program; moved ecommerce fulfillment to a separate facility increasing inventory capacity by 170%, lowering order fulfillment costs by 8%, and increasing peak fulfillment capability by 30%; implemented a store remodel program prioritized based on strategic considerations, return on investment, and lease term; identified need to improve merchandising and staffing at Company’s Outlet resulting in 32% improvement in sales; refinanced business generating additional $1M in liquidity and closed two rounds of equity financing totaling $5M. Achievements include being key partner in the implementation of a new loyalty program, Papa Gino’s refurbishment program, a more sophisticated and analytic approach to pricing, menu-development, creation and implementation of an advertising fund to administer D’angelo promotional and marketing activities, and creation of redesigned store formats with more compelling unit economics; led a comprehensive, forensic review of all line items in the P&L and Balance Sheet resulting in over 100 cost savings and process improvement initiatives worth more than $5 million in annual savings; saved $1.26 million by recovering over paid use tax, reducing credit card and bank fees, sheltering gift card breakage, streamlining operations and improving controls; reduced worker’s compensation and general liability claims through enhanced education, reporting, return to work, and self-administration programs resulting in over $2 million in savings; instrumental in the sale of the Company to a new venture capital firm; recapitalized the Company multiple times as part of creating greater capital for growth From January 2001 to March 2013 (12 years 3 months) VP Finance & Controller @ Senior management team member and lead finance person responsible for the development, execution and evaluation of the Company’s business plan for this 13 store, $175 million retailer of food and drug products.
