Systematic selection of innovation projects with priority by size, time to market, fit to existing products and/or technologies, competitive landscape. Leadership of a diverse team with direct and functional reports in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Mumbai, Taipei. Interaction with different functions globally. Projects with customers in solvents, monomers, building blocks, renewable chemicals; segments: plastics, coatings, pharmaceuticals, crop protection, batteries, etc. Sales of several mEur p.a. from innovations introduced in the past five years, tangible sales impact through new projects. From June 2011 to March 2015 (3 years 10 months) Product Management (Intermediates) @ Responsible for a portfolio of specialty intermediates for epoxy, crop protection and pharmaceuticals, annual sales of several mEur. Turned within 1 year a product line’s downward sales trend (ca. -5% p.a.) into substantial growth (over 20% p.a.) while keeping its profitability. This was achieved through focused promotion in growth countries combined with competitive pricing policy. Increased profitability in other product lines by exploiting supply/demand trends and changes in raw material costs. From October 2009 to May 2011 (1 year 8 months) Investments @ Spent first 9 months on the job at BASF VC America (Bay Area, California). Generated deal flow from USA, UK, Germany (Nanotech, Cleantech, Materials). Invested in 2 companies, one of them acquired later. Board observer in 2 companies. From March 2006 to September 2009 (3 years 7 months) Scientist @ Sorption and Permeation Lab with 4 technicians. Research on advanced foams for heat insulation. Attracted internal R&D funding, obtained 3 granted patents, published 1 book chapter.
