About Ana Silva

📖 Summary

I am passionate about discovering knowledge hidden behind data and putting it to good use, thus adding value. As a quantitative researcher, I have worked with the following techniques: general descriptive statistics, stratified sampling, principal component analysis, clustering, time series clustering, parametric and non-parametric testing, decision trees, nearest neighbours, graphical models (hidden markov models and markov random fields), and regression, logistic or otherwise. As for tools, I have used SAS for 14 years, but also coded in Matlab, SQL, and VBA, and played around with SPSS. Recently, I fell in love with TERR/R, Knime, and Spotfire: the first for being universal, the second for being complex stats without coding, i.e. closer to what the world needs, and the latter for just making data discovery and predictive modelling simple and fun for any user, even non-numeric ones, i.e. even closer to what the world needs. I want to continue to work with numbers. And to continue dancing.Senior Data Scientist @ Proposing TIBCO's unique suite from visualisation to real time passing through predictive analytics - to generate transformational value to blue-chip clients in diverse economic sectors (FSI, CPG-R, Health, O&G, etc) in EMEA, US, Canada, and Latin America.
