đź“– Summary
A highly motivated and hardworking data-scientist with strong business acumen who has developed an award winning business intelligent tool using predictive models and algorithmic bid optimization routines for predicting the performance of digital marketing advertising channels and managing them optimally. Has a successful track of data driven analytical projects in academic and industry. Possessing extensive knowledge from quantitative techniques in the field of statistical modeling and machine learning with the goal of extracting meaningful and actionable insight from data and creating data products using high performance computing. Throughout several years in this profession, I have applied many quantitative techniques in the areas of: mathematical and probability models, uncertainty modelling, clustering and classification methods, time series modelling, linear and non-linear regression, logistic regression, tree-based modeling (CART), machine learning, Hidden Markov models, statistical programming, pattern recognition, data visualization, and high performance computing with the goal of extracting meaningful and actionable insight from data and creating data products. I have also worked on designing and implementing several incrementality/uplift and A/B tests in order to measure the effectiveness of online marketing activities. I have also have an expertise in data-driven marketing attribution model. I have an extensive knowledge of statistical programming languages of R, SAS, Splus, Matlab, and statistical packages of SPSS and Minitab. I am also familiar with Python language, specifically SciPy package. I have also the experience producing SQL for ETL purposes.Research Data Scientist @ From May 2015 to Present (6 months) Cambridge, United KingdomSenior Data Scientist @ I joined Summit in August 2012 in the position of Senior Statistician/Data Scientist on the Research and Development (R&D) team to produce decision support systems for managing online marketing channels for retailers, known as the Summit Forecaster project. In this project we have been developing predictive models which help to forecast the KPIs of online marketing channels based on different scenarios, which consequently assist in suggesting the optimal solutions and maximise the profitability of online marketing channels, in conjunction with offline. I have been supervising our Insight team in implementing data-driven analysis in response to clients’ analytical requests. This involves establishing analytical approaches using available data sources, or designing and implementing experimental tests to collect the required data, to make inference. We have developed and implemented many analytical tests such as multichannel synergy, PPC brand keywords incrementality and display retargeting incrementality tests, A/B Testing for our clients. From September 2011 to May 2015 (3 years 9 months) Hull, United KingdomStatistical modeller and data management expert @ I was working with a team of engineers to estimate key mechanical, civil and construction, electrical, time, workload, and cost items prior to the process of power plant construction projects. My work in that position involved me designing relational data-bases to collect and maintain past historical data of Gas turbine construction projects. Due to the nature of these projects the past historical data consist of small number of rows, corresponding to the previous projects completed, of and vast number of fields. The main focus of our work was to provide a casual model for estimating variables of Interest. In several cases, mathematical expressions were sufficient to approximate the relationship between most significant factors and the dependent variable. However, these models were subject to uncertainties that need to be modelled by probabilistic distribution, often necessitates elicitation of expert judgment using simple statistical distribution such as Uniform, Triangular, Normal, Beta, etc. The Monte Carlo simulation was applied to generate the realization of the variable under investigation, considering the uncertain explanatory variables. Some part of this work was presented in 21st international conference on electrical engineering, Tehran, Iran, electric power research institute, 2007. From January 2005 to October 2007 (2 years 10 months) Iran, TehranSurvey Statistician @ Survey Statistician and Editorial manager (full-time) of Journal of Statistical Research of Iran (SRTC). My jobs involved doing researches associated to the survey methodology. I have been working on two research projects during this period 1- The advanced method for evaluating questionnaires 2- Working as a second author of a book entitles “Survey methodology”. This book published in 2007 3- Row and column elimination sampling and its efficiency. The result of this project was published in The Journal of Statistical Research of Iran (JSRI), Vol. 1., No. 2, 2004 4- Adjusted variance is survey sampling using the Calculating effect size for sampling methods with high intera-correlation. The result presented in seminar at Statistical research and Training Centre of Iran in August-2004. My job as an editorial managers involved with proof-reading the received papers, liaising the referees, organising the monthly editorial board meetings. From May 2004 to September 2005 (1 year 5 months) Statistical Research and Training Center (SRTC)Research Assistant @ From 1998 to 2000 (2 years) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mathematical Sciences - Statistics, Statsitical analysis of clickstream data, and web usage analysis @ University of Durham From 2007 to 2011 Master in Scinece (MSc.), Socioeconomic Statistics, Thesis: Log-linear models for complex survey sampling data @ Isfahan University of Technology From 2000 to 2003 Amin PhD is skilled in: Statistical Modeling, Predictive Modeling, R, SAS programming, SPSS, Data Mining, Mathematical Modeling, Linear Regression, Regression Analysis, Predictive Analytics, Time Series Analysis, Attribution Modeling, Analysis, Data Modeling, Minitab, Simulations, Data Analysis, Matlab, VBA, Logistic Regression, SQL, Programming, Statistics, Business Intelligence, E-commerce Optimization, Quantitative Research, Multi-channel Marketing, Business Analysis, Access, Online Marketing, PPC, SAS, Web Analytics, Management, Digital Marketing, E-commerce, Google Analytics, SAS Programming, Stata, Conversion Optimization
