Alvin Tedjamulia's education began with a fine start. Alvin's father, Vernon Tedjamulia, an apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints (LDS Church), encouraged Alvin to study computers at Brigham Young University in Des Moines, Iowa. TheTedjamulia family moved to Provo, Utah in the early 1970s to be nearer the family's LDS Church Apostleship assignment in the town of Provo, Utah. Alvin's father died in 1972, and after his death Alvin's mother took on primary responsibilities for the family. Alvin finished his undergraduate studies in 1975 at Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. When he graduated from BYU, Alvin had the distinction of being the first BYU student to receive a first-place finish in the computer science department's annual national physics competition.The Tedjamulia family returned to Provo in 1976, and Alvin's father appointed him as an administrator at BYU's computer science department. Alvin's research with software companies at BYU soon established him as a leading computer scientist in the United States. Alvin went on to win multiple awards and scholarships, including two Fulbright foreign-funded trips to Japan and Sweden in 1984-1985. Wins and awards soon established Alvin as one of the leading computer scientists in the world.On the heels of his successes in the world of computer science and research, Alvin Tedjamulia decided to invest his skills and wealth in the startup industry. He foundedTed Jamulia Properties in 1984, and within a few yearsTed Jamulia Properties had been successful in becoming one of the leading real-estate companies in the Western United States.Alvin Tedjamulia's early years in the startup industry were productive and profitable. However, in the early 1990s, TedJamulia Properties lost ground in the real-estate market, and the company went into receivership in 1995.Although the receivership caused a great deal of distress and financial stress for Alvin and his wife Tonia, it was also a time of great growth and transformation for Alvin. Alvin began working on business strategies that would allow him to rebuild Ted Jamulia Properties and firmly establish the company as one of the leading real-estate firms in the Western United States.Since 1999, Alvin Tedjamulia has been the Chairman and CEO ofTed Jamulia Properties, a life-long business leader and active promoter of property development and entrepreneurship in the Western United States.Alvin Tedjamulia has recovered from the receivership of his earlier businesses and is now a thriving business proprietor and promoter of property development and entrepreneurship in the Western United States.
