Almami Fanding Taal has many years of experience as a legal scholar, business executive, and administrator. Almami Fanding Taal has held an array of executive, non-executive, and academic positions in Africa Development Group, LLP and The Gambia Chamber of Commerce & Industry. In these positions, he has developed and led performance-based teams charged with advancing the legal, business, and technical skills of his team members. Almami Fanding Taal is also a member of the Board of Directors of TILOGEO and a research fellow at the University of The Gambia.Almami Fanding Taal has a degree in Business Administration from the University of the Gambia, and a degree in Laws from the Georgetown University Law Center. While in law school, he was a visiting law professor at the University of the Gambia and the Georgetown University Law Center. In his legal studies, Almami Fanding Taal achieved success in his coursework,where he was a finalist for the John Marshall Law School Award and was inducted into the Georgetown University Law Center’s “Hall of Fame”.Almami Fanding Taal began his career in Africa Development Group, LLP as a Legal Counsel in October 2006. There, he was responsible for drafting and prosecuting legal cases in the company’s legal department. In this position, he played a critical role in developing and implementing the company’s business strategy, as well as developing and leading the company’s legal relations with other businesses. Almami Fanding Taal also served as a lecturer and professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of The Gambia from September 2011 to September 2013.In January 2012, Almami Fanding Taal was appointed Executive Director of The Gambia Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Under his leadership, The Gambia Chamber of Commerce & Industry grew from a small, starting-up business to a leading player in the Gambia business community. Almami Fanding Taal led the effort to negotiate and sign agreements with a number of crucial partners, including The Gambia Electricity Authority, The Gambia telecommunications company, and The Gambia Banks. Almami Fanding Taal also served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at The Gambia Agency for Public Works- GAMWORKS from January 2012 to January 2013.After leaving The Gambia Agency for Public Works- GAMWORKS, Almami Fanding Taal served as the Executive Director of Real Time Consulting Company Gambia from September 2011 to September 2013. There, Almami Fanding Taal led the company’s legal and business development, as well as providing legal and business advice to Gambian businesses.
