I'm Ally, and I work as a freelance lighting designer and production manager, as well as an event planner when needed. I am currently seeking to make the transition to working dominantly in New York City as a production manger or event coordinator! I presently work all over the place in the theatre/event industry. I have resumed my work as a lighting design at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center once again after not working there for over 2 years. I design for shows ranging from rock concerts, comedians, in-house children productions, dance/ballet shows, and anything else they throw my way. I've also designed many shows on the Stony Brook campus for performers, musicians, and dancers. I've worked with the dance school for 5 years now on their dance ensemble, have become their technical advisor, and it's been great.
I also work in the a/v world, setting up, running and coordinating events. I work for the Student Activities Center on Stony Brook University as an assistant a/v coordinator. I've been working in this department since last year and it's been a lot of work, a little more on the administrative side than I have done before, but it's a great experience to be able to have. It's greatly expanded my knowledge, having to fix and mend systems and equipment that I previously never had to work with. So, its been challenging but extremely beneficial. I work as a stage manager and production manager for different events and performances, and this is dominantly the work in which I do best, but I have dabbled in many aspects of theater:
I've worked with sound operation a good deal, not claiming to be an audio engineer or sound designer, but I can sufficiently run an event well, mix sound. I also have worked with video editing and projections. I love this kind of work, it's really quite fun and interesting to me. Even more, I've done set design and construction and costume design and construction. Feel free to contact me to know more or make a connection!
