Allan Peng's Work experiences:I started my engineering career in August 2015 as a Technical Owner of a core Automatic Speech Recognition server product using C++/Boost and Kaldi. I built out the core features including support for various audio encodings, fix Concurrency Bugs, and implemented new Speaker Diarization(segmentation) system, improving Error rate from 15% to 4% during the course of my engineering internship at LinkedIn from May2015 to August2015. I also trained HMM-Neural Net systems to transcribe English and Spanish during my prior engineering career at UC Berkeley College of Engineering from June2013 to December2014.In June 2018, I started working at UC Berkeley as a Research Software Engineer for Remeeting in Berkeley, California, United States. At UC Berkeley, I'm responsible for the technical owner of the core Automatic Speech Recognition server product, as well as the build out of the core features including support for various audio encodings, fix Concurrency Bugs, and implemented new Speaker Diarization(segmentation) system, improving Error rate from 15% to 4%. Allan Peng is currently a Research Engineer at Berkeley RISE Lab from March 2017 to November 2017 (9 months). PyWren.io, a distributed execution engine built on serverless cloud computing- Ported and benchmarked PyWren from AWS Lambda architecture to Google Cloud and Azure- Designed and ran experiments benchmarking different serverless implementation models, researched the feasibility of running PyWren on different serverless backbones.Allan Peng has experience developing and running experiments in the fields of Python, AWS Lambda, S3, Azure, Azure Functions, Google Cloud, Google Cloud Functions, and C#. In his time with PyWren, Peng has created and tested a wide range of uses cases for the software, including benchmarking different serverless implementation models and researching the feasibility of running PyWren on different backends.Allan Peng has also amassed a lot of experience in managing and supervising underprivileged students in the course reader and discussion assistant role at UC Berkeley College of Engineering.
