Alex Fotin has a M.Sc. in Engineering Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). With this degree, Alex Fotin obtained a position at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1998. From there, Alex Fotin moved to Harvard University and was the first to hold a position in the Computer Science Department as a postdocs from 1998 to 2004. In 2004, Alex Fotin became a professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville.From his training in Engineering Physics, Alex Fotin has developed his current research interests in Biophysics/Computer Science. This research is focused on understanding the cellular and Molecular behavior of proteins, and the computational methods for accelerating protein analysis. Alex Fotin is also a member of several academies and research councils, and has published a great deal of work in these fields.
