Digital transformation means completely re-thinking our operating models, to adopt slim business practices based on smart technology and connected data, that puts our customers at the heart of what we do… delivering better outcomes for our country and our people. THE PERSON As a software engineering by trade, with management qualifications, a background delivering business outcomes in both private industry and the public service, and as an entrepreneur with my own start-up company, I understand the bigger role that digital technology can play in a successful organisation. I have engaged stakeholders ranging from junior front line staff through to senior executive, developed relationships with partner companies and agencies, and have led the implementation of systems from concept, through procurement, to embedded use and operation. From October 2010 to Present (5 years 3 months) Canberra, AustraliaDeputy CIO @ An organisation must move forward, even while cutting costs. As a deputy CIO, I was in a great position to help by using technology to lower costs, ease the burden with fewer staff, and generate new revenue. From December 2012 to June 2013 (7 months) Australian Capability Reviews - Review team lead @ I led the review team through the first Australian pilot capability review undertaken at the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. Together our team adapted the UK model of capability to the Australian environment, developed guidance material, processes and tools for subsequent review teams, successfully reviewed the leadership, strategy, and delivery capabilities of the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, and completed a programme evaluation in support of a cabinet submission. From December 2010 to October 2011 (11 months) Assistant Director - P3M3 @ I worked collaboratively with government agencies to improve their capability to successfully deliver ICT enabled initiatives. This initiative was primarily focussed on improving organisational capability in portfolio, program and project management. From July 2010 to December 2010 (6 months) Consultant @ Management consultant working in the information management sector Clients included Federal Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, NSW Department of Education and Training, the Australian Electoral Commission, the Australian Federal Police, Defence, the Attorney Generals Department, and the Australian Tax Office.
