Al Campa's education and work readiness backgrounds have helped him become one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the business world. Campa's education has well-equipped him to be an effective CEO and entrepreneur. Born in Stanford, California to parents who are computer science graduates, Campa spent his early years learning the basics of computers and mathematics. He later attended Harvard Business School, where he earned his bachelor's degree in business administration in 2002. After leaving Harvard, Campa returned to Stanford as an advisor for the Stanford computer science department and continued to teach economics at the school. In 2007, Campa was chosen as the CEO of online retailer Xoom. Under Campa's leadership, Xoom became one of the largest online retailers in the world, and the company was acquired by Amazon. Following his acquisition of Xoom, Campa served as the Chief Operating Officer and then as CEO of Amazon. After Amazon's acquisition of Kraft Food, Campa served as the CEO of that company until he was ousted in November 2009 after discovering a bribery scandal involving Kraft food executives.Since his departure from Kraft Food, Campa has have dedicated himself to developing a personal brand that he calls " meal-based capitalism." Campa's vision is to move food away from being a supplementary necessity and into a ceremony that becomes a celebration of taste and nutrition. Campa's philosophy, which is based on the belief that all people should have access to reasonable, affordable tastes of good food, has won him legions of fans and a following on social media. His new meal-based capitalism business, Meal Project, has already been raking in serious cash. Campa is now planning to expand his business into other countries, and he has announced his intention to start a school to teach how to cook and eat like anative American.
