Beyond this, I theorized & simulated routing algorithm improvements to build a scalable architecture for inter-vehicular communication to deliver traffic updates & other news through multiple hops. The model took into consideration external factors such as vehicular velocity & congestion as well as number of lanes on the road. From August 2010 to April 2011 (9 months) Greater Atlanta AreaGraduate Student Researcher @ Project: Development of user rating model for network security Worked under: Prof. John Copeland I worked with the Communications System Center (CSC) team at Georgia Tech to develop a "user-rating" model based on the web-browsing behavior of users on a large network using passive analysis techniques. The research problem was part of a larger project that considered other types of behavior that an average user exhibits while on a public network (e.g. GeorgiaTech LAWN). The focus for Fall 2010 was to introduce the concept of Game Theory and Fuzzy Logic into devising a strategy to model the risk rating of the user. The method we followed was to monitor the packets sent from & received at the user terminal using analysis tools such as, Tcpdump and Snort, determine the risk that the user faces while visiting certain types of web-pages, and assign a security grade to the user. From January 2010 to December 2010 (1 year) Greater Atlanta AreaStrategy Intern @ I worked with the Group Technology team at Axiata to develop a technology-business strategy for the company and its subsidiaries to migrate existing 2G and 3G networks to a 4G network. My research work heavily focused on various 3GPP standards, particularly on the evolution from GSM/GPRS to LTE - both from the network side and the user equipment side. I was also required to provide comments on the business aspect of the migration with respect to optimization of cost of delivery per bit v/s price per bit in order to achieve quick ROI.
