Since then, we have launched apps on the Apple AppStore for the iPad (using the Digital Publishing Solution from Adobe), the Amazon MarketPlace for the Kindle Family of devices and the Google PlayStore for the Android tablets. The app for the Android devices is a custom Android app, built in-house. Apart from the daily printed news, the apps carry 30 interactive puzzles and interactive TV and Radio listings. The MailPlus portfolio also consists of backend systems - 2 customised Word Press based CMSes - one for content and the other for managing the data for the interactive puzzles, Digital Edition Manager - responsible for importing content from the print systems and enabling the digital editors to enhance the content with more images, videos etc, Workflow Manager - responsible for managing folios for each day’s edition for the iPad app. As a development manager, I have been responsible for the development and integration of these products.
As a Mobile Development Manager, I am also responsible for the general design, development and quality of mobile apps that the team builds. This includes an in-house conference app that is branded according to the conference and a new version of the OnTrees iPhone app.
Currently, I am working on a universal iOS app for MetroPlay Casino, soon to be launched on the AppStore. Developed an internal conference app for iOS. This app would display the conference agenda, show a list of the participants with their detailed bio, carry presentations and documents for the various events in the conference. Users were able to take notes against each event, rate the event and send feedback to the organiser.
