The app for the Android devices is a custom Android app, built in-house. Apart from the daily printed news, the apps carry 30 interactive puzzles and interactive TV and Radio listings. The MailPlus portfolio also consists of backend systems - 2 customised Word Press based CMSes - one for content and the other for managing the data for the interactive puzzles, Digital Edition Manager - responsible for importing content from the print systems and enabling the digital editors to enhance the content with more images, videos etc, Workflow Manager - responsible for managing folios for each day’s edition for the iPad app. As a development manager, I have been responsible for the development and integration of these products. As a Mobile Development Manager, I am also responsible for the general design, development and quality of mobile apps that the team builds. This includes an in-house conference app that is branded according to the conference and a new version of the OnTrees iPhone app. Currently, I am working on a universal iOS app for MetroPlay Casino, soon to be launched on the AppStore.
