Joined to take over the CDN Growth project. With the recently acquired scripting skills, many of implementation, test and rollback plans have been automated through the use of configuration management framework namely Ansible. Some of the tools used to aid this were: - Jinja2 templating engine - Ansible Configuration-Management Framework - Python/Bash scripting This has resulted in Adeel now being a part of Sky's 'Network Automation Initiative'. Will be exploring the following: - Version-control tools like Git and GitLab to store templates and scripts. - Redesigning templates to conform with automation (in Jinja2 format). - Using APIs to access information from relevant DBs (IPAM, OSS/BSS). - Building 'test modules' (ServerSpec) for generated network configuration to run in a sandbox environment. - Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins or GitLab-CI - Documenting network designs (HLD/LLD) in wiki format. (e.g. GitLab wiki, Wikimedia) The objective is to bring all the technical resources onto one platform ultimately producing efficient work-flow and reducing technical-debt.

Adeel is accustomed to establishing and developing IT projects, networks and infrastructures; harnessing various methodologies, including ITIL to complete projects within time and resource constraints. He's currently exploring Scrum methodology and the use of Kanban boards to improve workflow efficiency. He has also become recognised for exceptional team collaboration, influencing and negotiation, strategic decision making and problem solving skills throughout his career with expertise encompassing: the administration, analysis, optimisation, documentation and support of network solutions. He has been instrumental in designing, implementing and managing solutions for high performing networks, including all associated solutions delivery analysis and design on behalf of service-provider clients having previously harnessed the ability to convey often complex technical details to non-technical audience in a variety of support roles. Skills include but not exhaustive: • Automation • Network Design/Architecture • Deep Protocol Knowledge • Business Understanding • Technical Project Management Familiarity with the following network protocols and platform: BGP OSPF MPLS VPLS QoS IPv6 LDP/RSVP ISIS Adeel keeps himself up to date with industry trends and has adapted himself towards the direction the industry is heading. His understanding in open-source systems and application level control has developed an increasing for him to be involved in 'network programming' and NFV. His inspiration from the 'TDD' (Test-Driven Development) has enabled him to produce more qualitative work in the networking environment. With his home-lab, his familiarity with the following are growing stronger: - Linux - Arista - Cumulus - ExaBGP - Python - Bash/Shell scripting - Regular Expression (regex) - Ansible / Jinja2Network Engineer @ Joined to take over the CDN Growth project.
