Executive Vice President @ From April 2015 to Present (9 months) Board Member @ I've transitioned from a staff role to a board of directors position. I'm now working in mostly an advisory capacity. I'm very proud of my ten years of service to Girls Rock NC, during which we've grown the organization from a small camp with volunteer-only staff and twenty four girls to a full-fledged non-profit with full time staff with health benefits, a fantastic board, five camps that serve 200 girls a summer, and year-round programming. From February 2012 to Present (3 years 11 months) Co-founder @ WomenWork is a new venture created by my sister, Louise Newton, MSW, LCSW, and myself. We're creating a professional development series with a peer-supervision model that focuses on how women work together in a professional setting, how our gender socialization and innate characteristics can help us find professional success, and creative problem solving for issues that arise from common gender-based misunderstandings and barriers in the professional world. From November 2011 to Present (4 years 2 months) Deputy Director @ From December 2007 to April 2015 (7 years 5 months) Director of Operations @ I co-directed a non-profit that runs a summer program for girls ages 7-17. GRNC empowers girls to become confident, creative members of their communities through music education and performance. From August 2003 to October 2011 (8 years 3 months) Restaurant Owner @ My two partners and I designed, built, and ran a successful neighborhood restaurant in downtown Durham. We recently sold to Eno Hospitality Group, and wish them all the best! From February 2006 to August 2010 (4 years 7 months)
