From December 2014 to Present (1 year 1 month) San Francisco Bay AreaSenior Network Engineer @ Responsibilities include maintaining 99.999% network availability for critical 9-1-1 systems and applications to ensure emergency services have the capability to provide fast and reliable advanced assistance. Build public safety call center suites, and configure BGP running over GRE tunnels using VRF's to ensure seamless fail-over at the call center in case of vendor circuit connectivity issues. Be the on-call technician for a minimum of a week at a time supporting circuit outages to ensure all remote sites and customers have the highest availability possible. Support over 10 projects at a time which includes providing recommendations based on current network utilization and configuration, packet captures for troubleshooting, creating new physical and logical networks, physically installing network and server equipment, and insight on new issues as required. From December 2011 to November 2014 (3 years) Greater Denver AreaTactical Data Network Specialist @ Responsibilities included designing, managing, and supervising the installation of classified and unclassified DOD networks, including all WAN links and firewalls while in Afghanistan from January 2010 â September 2010. Led a staff of 40 administrators to supervise and teach how these networks utilize WANs, LANs, Windows, Linux, firewalls, and other network administration tools to ensure proper network integration with new and existing infrastructures. Mentored all staff to ensure each individual was progressing on a successful path, and helped solve personal issues as they became apparent if needed.
